Independent Living: Socializing and Dining

This course is for professionals who work with students who are visually impaired. It offers tips and techniques to help people with vision loss socialize and dine with ease, enabling them to regain and expand their social lives. Topics include accepting oneself, communication and social skills, meetings and conferences, tips for people who are deaf-blind, dining etiquette, dining techniques, home dining, restaurant strategies, and techniques for eating particular foods. Exploring these strategies will enable the student to live more independently.
Note: this course does NOT replace training from a rehabilitation professional.
