Independent Living: Basic Home Maintenance

Home maintenance can be daunting with vision loss. But the nonvisual senses, any remaining vision, helpful adaptations, and strategies can enable a person who is visually impaired to perform many home maintenance chores. This course explains how to use various tools, explores household systems, and outlines room-by-room maintenance, from dealing with clogged sinks to mowing the lawn. Whether in an apartment or a house, discovering ways to perform basic home maintenance tasks will enable the student to live more independently.
Note: this course does NOT replace training from a rehabilitation professional.
