Diabetes and Visual Impairment

Diabetes is a common condition in the United States and worldwide, and vision loss is a common complication. If your clients have both diabetes and visual impairment, you may have questions about how they can self-manage diabetes and have independent, fulfilling lives. But many strategies and adaptive tools exist, and a variety of professionals can help. In particular, this course presents appropriate adaptations for completing diabetic self-management tasks with blindness or low vision. Familiarizing yourself with information about diabetes, visual impairment, and adaptations will enable you to assist clients in managing this condition.
