With guidance from parents and other important adults, infants and toddlers can gain the skills they need to become successful braille readers later. The goal of this course is to provide the tools and information needed to prepare a child for reading braille. These include experiences and activities that promote the development of oral language, concepts, and motor skills. The course also introduces the braille alphabet and numbers for sighted readers, and discusses the creation of a braille-rich environment.
