The Hadley Teen Board is a great way to give back. I've learned so much about vision impairment and what Hadley is doing to help.
— Meghan Mulhern, Hadley Teen Board
The Teen Board of The Hadley School for the Blind is a group of talented and involved high school students who live in and around the North Shore area of Chicago.
This coed group of teens meets once a month, usually on a Sunday. In addition, they hold fundraisers, serve as ambassadors for Hadley, and help out at Hadley events, including those for Hadley's Woman's Board.
This is a very friendly, inclusive group, which takes into account the fact that many of their members are involved with academics, sports, or other extra-curricular activities. Members are encouraged to participate at the level with which they are comfortable.
The Teen Board is looking to have members of all levels of high school. Each year, as the board evolves and senior officers go off to college, a wide variety of leadership opportunities continue to become available to its members.
