NIB Business Basics and Workplace Basics

Advance your skills and prepare for success!

Overview

This program is offered by a partnership between National Industries for the Blind (NIB) and Hadley Institute for the Blind and Visually Impaired. It includes 13 Hadley courses, which are grouped by Business Basics or Workplace Basics. You may take as many as you like while learning anytime, anywhere. Upon successful completion of each course, Hadley will award you a Certificate of Achievement.

Are there any prerequisites?

Before beginning your first course you will complete a short Entrance Assignment. The Entrance Assignment is similar to many Hadley lesson assignments, and is a good orientation on how distance education works. Upon successfully completing the Entrance Assignment, you will automatically be enrolled in the first course you selected on your online application.

Complete and submit this Enrollment Application. You will be asked to select Business Basics or Workplace Basics — all courses will be available to you, regardless of your selection. You will also be asked to verify legal blindness. If you are affiliated with the network of NIB associated agencies, NIB will verify this for you. Otherwise you will be asked to complete Hadley's Eye Report.

In all Hadley courses, a credentialed instructor will grade your work and be available for assistance. When ready for another course, either enroll through Hadley's OASIS (Online Automated Student Information System) or contact Student Services at 800-323-4238.
