3 Steps to Enrollment

  1. Complete and submit the enrollment application. Application forms are available in braille, cassette, CD, large print and online. To access the online application, visit Enrollment Application Web page. All required fields on the electronic from must be completed for processing. If a question does not apply to your particular situation, mark it NA (Not Applicable).

List the courses of interest in the preferred order on the application. You will not be enrolled concurrently in the courses you select. Contact Student Services for details regarding additional courses or see School Policies regarding multiple course enrollments. High School student will be contacted regarding course selection requirements upon completion of the High School Program Entrance Assignment.

United States residents applying for enrollment in the ACE or HS Programs must submit an eye report. See additional information about the Eye Report in the section that follows. An eye report is not required for those who live outside the United States or those who are applying to the Hadley School for Professionals Studies or Family Education Program.
  2. Once Student Services has received your completed enrollment application form and eye report (required for U.S. Students), you will be automatically enrolled in either the ACE or HS Program Entrance Assignment.

The Adult Continuing Education Entrance Assignment is used to give students the opportunity to demonstrate basic writing and comprehension skills. In addition, the High School Entrance Assignment assesses basic math and English grammar skills.

The Entrance Assignment assists in determining the prospective student’s ability to prepare and submit assignments via distance education. It serves as a measure of the student’s commitment evaluated by how much time elapses prior to completion of the assignment.

High School students are expected to move at a steady pace toward earning a diploma. Therefore, we ask that students enroll only at a time when they are committed to completing their Hadley studies. A grade of at least 80 percent on the entrance assignment is required for acceptance into either program.

A Student Handbook is enclosed with the Entrance Assignment. It is also available online at www.hadley.edu by going to the Student Handbook link under Admissions.
  3. If you are enrolling in the ACE program, upon satisfactory completion of the Entrance Assignment you will be automatically enrolled in the first course selected on your application or its prerequisite.

If you are enrolling in the HS program, upon satisfactory completion of the High School Entrance Assignment, the evaluator or high school coordinator will contact you regarding your course selection.

NOTE: If you have not heard back from us within two weeks from the date you submitted your assignment, contact Student Services in writing, by telephone or via email at student_services@hadley.edu so that they can check the status of your request.

Eye Reports (U.S. applicants only)

Ask your medical doctor, ophthalmologist or optometrist to complete and sign the Hadley Eye Report form included with the enrollment application. Eye reports signed by a blindness professional from an agency working with you are also accepted. This information should be written on the letterhead of the agency.

If your eye condition has not changed since your last exam, your doctor may complete the form without reexamining your eyes. If you are, or have been, served by another agency or school that has your eye report on file, you may obtain and submit a copy of that report.

The submitted report must indicate your current visual acuities or visual field and state that you are legally blind or progressively visually impaired. Or, if you have a visual impairment that significantly disrupts functioning in one or more areas including but not limited to reading, writing, travel, employment, recreation, adjustment or other activities of daily living in the home, school work or community settings, the report must document these functional limitations.
